Colours and pattern do not only change the physical environment around us
but also impact our inner worlds.
Our home and our clothing can either slow us down – or propel us forward.
They can be a brake in our lives – or an energizing force that drives us ahead!
When I’m stuck in a bleak, grey-and-black space, my energy and joy fade quickly!
This realisation hit me over a decade ago.
Let me share how it all began—it’s a story I’ll never forget.
Back then, I just wanted to buy some cute, colourful clothes for my baby son.
I wasn’t planning to start a business or change the world, just trying to find fun, child-friendly outfits.
But things didn’t go as planned.
I was shocked to discover how hard it was to find cheerful, colourful clothing for a baby boy.
My son was only a few months old, and I wanted something fun and vibrant for him to wear.
For my daughter, it had been so simple—there were endless options full of colour and cheer.
But when it came to boys’ clothes, I was completely unprepared for what I found.
Boys’ clothing seemed to be dominated by dark, gloomy designs—skulls, action figures, and all things grim.
I was shocked!
Was this really the only option?
Where were the joyful, bright designs that all kids could enjoy?
That’s when I realised: something needed to change.
No, I needed to change it!
I love being in bright, colourful spaces!
From lively patterns on walls to fun, playful clothes and gaudy stuffed animals—these things instantly lift my spirits. 🙂
A cheerful environment always puts me in a good mood, and quite often, that positive energy spreads to those around me.
So there was no way I could let my son grow up surrounded by such dreary designs!
How could kids feel happy and carefree in such a gloomy world?
And it would have dampened my mood too.
But I wanted them to enjoy a bright and joyful childhood.
And so here I am, 15 years later, working as a surfacepattern designer, creating vibrant, uplifting, and colourful designs for kids and adults.
